Sounding transmitter / Recovery system TV01
A sounding transmitter is an after-theft recovery system. It ensures that your car can be found after theft.
Thanks to its small size and internal battery, it can be mounted out of sight anywhere in the car.
A locator / tracking device comes with a monitoring station subscription. The certified alarm centre (PAC) will activate the transmitter upon notification of theft. The locator will then use various techniques to transmit the location to the monitoring station. A location is also sent at least daily; this is your guarantee that the transmitter works, and is able to determine the position after theft.

Sounding transmitter stand-alone
As of 1 October ‘20, it is possible to obtain an SCM certificate for a sounding transmitter / TV 01 recovery system on a car without SCM-approved basic protection such as a class 1 immobiliser or a class 3 alarm system with inclination detection.

Think for example of brands from outside the EU or cars like Tesla where no SCM certificate can be issued for the factory alarm.

Our systems are approved by Kiwa SCM/CCV/VbV as a Class TV 01 recovery system and you will receive an official SCM certificate with it.

This is important because it ensures that all insurers recognise this certificate. Systems without a certificate are only accepted by a limited number of insurers.

Sounding transmitter + Class 3 alarm
We can therefore install a sounding transmitter stand-alone. We often do this with Tesla models, for instance, because alarm suppliers do not supply software protocols for Class 3 alarms.

However, for more expensive cars or theft-sensitive models, insurers often also set requirements for the basic alarm system.

More often, the policy conditions state ‘An alarm system with class 3 angle detection supplemented by a sounding transmitter / recovery system / lojack’.

So if your car is not fitted with this class 3 alarm with SCM certificate at the factory, we install 2 systems.
